AI-deck The AI-deck enables low power on-board artificial intelligence capabilities for the Crazyflie using a GAP8 chip with RISC-V multi-core architecture, 512 Mbit HyperFlash and 64 Mbit HyperRAM. In addition, the deck has a Himax HM01B0 Bayer RGB camera with a NINA W102 Wi-Fi module to stream your images to a desktop.

The Crazyflie 2.X can have one or more decks attached, but there's limited resources. So have a look at our deck … 2021-03-26 The Flow deck gives the Crazyflie 2.X the ability to detect its motions in any direction. The VL53L1x ToF sensor measures the distance to the ground with high precision and the PMW3901 optical flow sensor measures movements of the ground.

In our case the hello driver would be initialised only when a deck identified as “myHello” is installed on the Crazyflie. For development purpose it is possible to force enabling a deck driver with a compile flag. February 2020 by nicolas. The Bitcraze Crazyflie is a small and versatile quadcopter for research and education. An ecosystem of expansion decks, ground station clients and development tools are available. Crazyflie AI-deck is built around the GAP8 RISC-V multi-core MCU build for AI on the edge purposes.

Once the AI-deck is powered up by the Crazyflie, it will automatically create a hotspot called 'Bitcraze AI-deck Example'. If you do not find the hotspot 'Bitcraze AI-deck Example', it might be that the example has not been flashed on your AI-deck, depending on the source where you bought your copy from, then you might need to flash the wifi example on yourself (go here ).

The firmware for the DWM deck is included in the Crazyflie 2.0 firmware build (recent) and activated when the deck is attached. The deck contains a small memory that holds the address of the board as well as the addresses of the anchors it will use for ranging.

Once the AI-deck is powered up by the Crazyflie, it will automatically create a hotspot called ‘Bitcraze AI-deck Example’. In this repo in the folder named ‘NINA’ you will find a file called viewer.py. If you run this with python (preferably version 3), you will be able to see the camera image stream on your computer.
